Komal "Kay" Patel, PA-C is a graduate of CUNY College in New York with a BS degree in Physician Studies. She was honored with the Dean's list, Academic Achievement Award and has a strong background in healthcare, including a BS degree in Pharmacy. Before joining the practice, in April 2018, Kay worked for three years seeing adults and adolescents in Primary Care. She enjoyed diabetes and thyroid management the most. She is an active member of the American Academy of Physician Assistants. Kay is married with a son and daughter. In her free time, she enjoys biking, trail walking and spending time with her family outdoors.
Georgina Polanco Castillo, MD earned her medical degree at Universidad Nacional Pedro Henriquez Ureña in the Dominican Republic. She completed her Internal Medicine residency at Michigan State University in Grand Rapids, Michigan, and was a fellow in Endocrinology, Diabetes, and Metabolism at the University of Cincinnati in Ohio. She is board certified in both Internal Medicine and Endocrinology. She enjoys all aspects of her specialty and her goal is to help her patients achieve a healthy lifestyle and feel their best. Her hobbies include hiking, running, and traveling with her family. Dr. Polanco is fluent in Spanish and English.
Jennipher Hiester, PA-C, MSPA is a physician assistant who enjoys providing care for both pediatric and adult endocrinology patients. Jennipher graduated from Lafayette College in Easton, Pennsylvania with a bachelor’s degree in Neuroscience. Throughout attaining a Master of Science in Physician Assistant Studies at South University in Savannah, she discovered her interest in the endocrine system, which was later solidified by completing a clinical rotation in pediatric endocrinology. Jennipher also spent three years working in family practice, where she was able to further demonstrate her passion and dedication for endocrinology by frequently managing patients with diabetes and thyroid conditions. Outside of endocrinology, her personal interests include hiking, cooking, and practicing jiu-jitsu.
Candy Stringer, PA-C, is a certified Physician Assistant who provides pediatric and adult endocrine services. Candy graduated from Reed College in Portland Oregon with a Bachelor's Degree in Biology in 2006. She graduated from the Physician Assistant program at Duke University with a Master's in Health Sciences in 2014 and joined the practice the same year. She is humbled by receiving the prestigious Richard J. Scheele Memorial Award for Outstanding Graduate from the Duke Physician Assistant program. She is a member of the American Academy of Physician Assistants and the North Carolina Academy of Physician Assistants. Candy is glad for the personalized patient-centered care model at CCE and enjoys seeing patients of all ages and all aspects of general endocrinology.
Dr. Julia Warren-Ulanch, MD is originally from Texas and obtained her undergraduate and medical training at Texas A&M University. She completed her post-graduate training in Medicine/Pediatrics at the University of Michigan and Medicine/Pediatrics Endocrinology Fellowship at the University of Pittsburgh. Her research emphasis in fellowship was polycystic ovary syndrome (PCOS) in adolescents, but she enjoys all aspects of general endocrinology for patients of all ages. She has been an endocrinologist in Raleigh since August 2006, and leading Creedmoor Centre Endocrinology since September 2013. She is a Board-Certified specialist in Endocrinology and Pediatric Endocrinology with over a decade of experience in managing challenging disorders. She has completed Endocrine Certification in Neck Ultrasound (ECNU).

Andrea Kerick, RD, LDN, CDE is originally from Michigan and graduated from Western Michigan University in 1998 with a Bachelor's of Science in Nutrition and Dietetics. She completed an ADA recognized internship in July 1999 and passed the national registration exam to become a Registered Dietitian in November 1999. Andrea moved to North Carolina in 2002. She has previous experience in nephrology, diabetes and weight management for both adults and pediatrics. Andrea has always had a passion for diabetes management and weight loss. She obtained her certificate in weight management for Adults in 2005 and for Pediatrics in 2007 and obtained national credentialing in 2006 as a Certified Diabetes Educator. She has been working with patients who have experienced complications from diabetes, patients who need help managing their diabetes and medication regimens to patients who are trying to prevent the onset of diabetes.
